Recipe for Fighting Sorrow

Nehemiah 8:1-12 speaks of a day in the life of the people of God. The first part of the day was dedicated to the reading and explaining the Law of God. Everyone was there – men, women and children from 6am to noon. Now, the people are weeping over their sin. The law revealed sin and they are broken over the ways they have disobeyed the Lord. What to do? The leaders rise up and give directions to the people. It is a recipe for fighting their sorrows.
