The Blood of the Sacrifice
Series Deuteronomy
174
After they entered the promised land the people were to be allowed to slaughter domestic animals for meat as well as take gazelle and deer by hunting. But the restriction on not eating the blood of the animal was still to be observed and the people were commanded to ritually pour out the blood on the earth.
Why was 'blood' so important anyway and what did the blood poured out on the altar in the sacrifices point to?
