Intercession

Why do we need intercession? Sin separates us from God. It is rebellion. We need someone to bring us to God; someone to stand in the breach. Moses is the Old Testament mediator who intercedes for Israel. He prefigures Christ who is the true mediator of the covenant of grace. Moses' intercession reveals God's name as a name full of grace and by his intercession the fundamental blessing of the covenant is brought to bear. That blessing is God with us-the Immanuel Principle.
