The Joy of Covered Sin

Of all the joys experienced in life, the joy of love, of children, of friendship, of healing, of victory, etc., there is no joy comparable to the joy of sin forgiven, the joy of sin covered. There IS a covering of sin that brings NO JOY. It is a covering that brings guilt and anxiety and fear of discovery. There is no joy for the fugitive. In this psalm, David describes what it was like for those weeks and months when his sin went unconfessed. He describes God's hand being 'heavy upon' him, and his 'vitality turned into the drought of summer.' Judging from the comments received, this exposition of Psalm 32 was, and will continue to be, a blessing and encouragement to many.
