Jeremiah 2 takes us back… and reminds us of many days gone by. He takes us on a memory tour to better days. Back to the best days of Israel's fondness and young love and youthful courtship with her glory and love.

The best way to see the problem we should look at the end of Joshua's blessings upon the nation and the transfer of leadership to another generation that KNEW not the Lord. A generation of fathers who, by all indications, didn't insist, instruct, influence and indicate the priorities of God. A generation that followed went after lawlessness and loves and list that abandoned and reject God's tender and affectionate love over them. (judges 2)

Now, generations later, their taste for the forbidden is beyond neglecting… and they see it as an utter abomination to depart from it. They tell the prophet it is useless and hopeless to even try… they love who and what they love and they ain't changing.

Come walk with us through chapter 2 and you'll get an ear and eye full of God's gracious goodness and the despairing gravity of a failed union.
