Shrewd in Spiritual Things

No other parable of our Lord leaves readers as bewildered as does the one before us
this morning. Many scratch their heads in wonder. A close study, however, and a
careful analysis of our Lord's words are needed in order for us to be truly wise as to the
meaning of this parable. There is only one way that this dishonest manager could be
portrayed to us by Christ in a positive way, and that is in his foresight and prudence.
When we see these characteristics in a spiritual way then we will learn the following
three lessons:
