Peter's first sermon - Part 1

Peter begins his first test as an apostle in the Temple square on Pentecost Sunday. A crowd of thousands are gathered to investigate the sound of the wind, react to the astonishing miracle of the church’s speech, and are potentially infected with the false accusation of drunkenness. Peter takes his stand (finally), and demonstrates true leadership in sweeping aside the false claim and explaining directly from the Old Testament texts what is happening that morning. From Joel’s prophecy, Peter explains the outpouring of the Spirit and its effects, reminds the multitude of the Judgment, and urges them to call upon the Name of the Lord to be saved.
