Christ as our Friend

1. The relationship revealed here in John 15.
   a. A friendship with Christ is an enlightening relationship.

   • John 15 verses 14-16.
   • The Lord keeps no secrets from his friends. He shares his secrets and heart to his friends. Opening their minds to his word.
     b. A friendship with Christ is also an enduring relationship.
   • John 15 verse 14.
   • Christ, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) He never denies or forsakes a friend.
     c. A friendship with Christ is also an enjoyable relationship.
   • The joy that Christ gives is a steadfast joy. It stays in even the darkest of days and moments.
   • It is an abundant joy.
   • It is also an abiding joy. His joy is everlasting and growing.

2. The richness revealed..
   a. He promises to answer their supplications.
   b. He promises to admonish their sin.
   c. He also promises to advance their souls.

3. The responsibility revealed.
   a. Not only does friendship bring riches, but responsibility.
   b. A friend is also caring. John 15 verse 12.
   c. A friend is conscientious.
