The Battle Plan

Thesis: There is an on-going spiritual battle going on in which the Christian must live according to the plan God has given to us in the Bible - instructions on how to go into daily war against the enemy of this world.

The battle brief let's us know:

1. WE HAVE A SUPERNATURAL ENEMY

   • Satan is schemer, accuser, adversary, tempter, murderer, liar, lion.
   • Army is rulers, powers, forces of darkness
   • Wants us to attack problems of/and people and not present Gospel
   • "struggle" v.12 = hand to hand combat
   • Christian shouldn't be scared, but aware and react according to Lord

2. BE PREPARED

   • Offense comes from Jesus - twice in verse 10 = "in the Lord"
   • Christ has won the battle and given us divine resources
   • Christian has spirit of power, love and discipline (2 Timothy 1:7)

CONCLUSION: There are two eternal sides to this spiritual war. The side of Satan has already lost and those with him. What side are you on? Christian - be the soldier God has called you to be.
