2. The Man of God Deceived by the Old Prophet (Sermon 2 of 3)

The account of the Man of God stands as a resounding message to preachers and congregations of the Lord Jesus Christ that God says what He means and means what He says. In this second study of 1 Kings 13 the Man of God who had been profoundly faithful and bold in proclaiming the Word of the Lord to Jeroboam, swerves off the path of obedience. While his failure is understandable and even under duress in a way (blatant deception), he yields to temptation and returns with the old prophet to Bethel.

Clearly, this whole account is recorded for us as God's people today... to warn and encourage us top hear and heed the voice of the LORD.
