We must never think of our creation without thinking about Christ.

  1. Adam was formed out of dust. By this let us remember God’s care for us despite our nothingness. Christ Jesus, the second Adam, took on our flesh of dust to be our saviour.

  2. Eve was made out of Adam’s rib. By this let us remember the special place of women in the family, in the society and in the church. But let us also remember the Seed of the Woman who was bruise on his heal in order to conquer death for us.

  3. In His own image, God made man. By this let us remember how we were originally made in knowledge, righteousness and holiness. Let is thank God that through Christ the express image of God, the image of God is being restored in us that we may enjoy God forever.

  4. Over the creatures God appointed man. By this let us thank God that he made all thinks for the sake of his elect. And let contemplate on how we can truly have dominion over the creatures in Christ!

  5. United in marriage, Adam & Eve anticipated Christ. By this, let us be filled with thanksgiving in our heart for the love of Christ for us his bride. And let us learn to submit to Christ and love him as He love us.

God created man, male and female, after his own image in knowledge, righteousness and holiness, with dominion over the creatures.

Oh may the Lord grant us that this doctrine not only tickle our minds, but fill our hearts with gratitude for Christ and the strength to walk with him that we may be more and more like him who is the perfect man, and the express image of God. Amen.
