The Spirt Helps Us

Here in Romans 8, Paul introduces us to what it means to live in the Spirit. Life in the Spirit is characterized by (1) freedom from condemnation, (2) freedom from sin and death, (3) new authority and direction in my life, (4) a new relationship of sonship, (5) a new inheritance, and (6) new hope. Between our adoption and our inheritance there lies a path of suffering in this world cursed on account of sin, but in the midst of this struggle we have (7) new help (vss 26-27). Must we face trials, difficulties, hardships, the loss of loved ones, the loss of friends, loss of jobs, danger, the uncertainty and insecurities of life alone? Paul answers, NO!
