Victory Over Sin

4,206

Andrew Alexander Bonar (1810-1892), the younger brother of Horatius Bonar, was best known for writing the biography of Robert Murray McCheyne.

Andrew Bonar was a man well acquainted with Christ; not merely a knowledge of the doctrinal Christ of the Scriptures, but a man with an intimate relationship with the Savior because he was a man well acquainted with the Lord in the closet of prayer. Bonar wrote, “There is too much time taken up with active work for the Kingdom. Surely if God's servants are to speak and preach in the power of the Holy Spirit they must again give themselves continually to prayer…”

Pastor Jon Cardwell reads the little book, “Victory Over Sin,” which gives us a brief look into the kind of prayerful life this minister of God must have had. His exposition of Colossians 3:1-6 speaks to the Christian believer just as powerfully today as in the day it was first published.
