God's Appointed Leader

This sermon begins a new series on the book of Joshua. The book of Joshua provides a bridge from the first five books of the Old Testament to the books of Judges through Kings. It tells us the rest of the story after Moses and begins laying the foundation for the importance and need of a king after God's own heart, David. But the book of Joshua is more than a bridge, it is important in its own right as it raises crucial questions about the people of God in covenant with Him. Joshua is not simply another Moses. He is God's appointed leader, pointing us to the one who was promised. It is Jesus Christ who leads His people in victory over all false gods and brings them into perfect rest.
