7 The Testimony of Change
Series Mark
78
- The leper was an object of grace.
- The leper gives us a visual representation of sin.
- Leprosy is hereditary; parents pass it on to their children and future descendants.
- Leprosy separates people; it alienates people.
- Leprosy is a visual representation of sin because it destroys and kills.
- Leprosy is incurable by humanity.
- We see that the leper's purpose was to be a witness of Christ's grace. Jesus sent him to the temple to be a testimony to the priests of Christ.
- In this leper, we see an illustration of harmful disobedience.
Conclusion: It wasn't God who afflicted Christ with sin, it was Christ touching sinners. It was we whom Christ came to save who struck him and afflicted him.
