Christ the Faithful Remnant's Sanctuary

Touches on many subjects of interest to Reformed Christians, but focuses primarily on God's view of the faithful remnant (in opposition to that of those who oppose her) and questions related to the visible church. Refutes Rome on this point, while also showing how many Reformed teachers have fallen into a Romish error by equating the ministry with the visible church (e.g. Dick Bacon's The Visible Church and Outer Darkness). Shows how Turretin (and other Reformers) deflected this Romish error by detailing how the faithful church is often contained in a small remnant that is, at times, not even publicly visible (as in Elijah's day).

Also shows how Calvin counselled Christians to meet in their homes privately, if need be, to avoid partaking in any public idolatry -- and that he also counselled, when possible, to move to areas where a faithful ministry could be found, if none was available locally. Rutherford and the Protesters are also shown to have been faithful covenant keepers in regard to their separation from the corrupted ministry and ordinances of the Resolutioners.

All this is related to exhibiting Christ (and His truth) as the primary concern for Christians, and the ministry and ordinances (as important as they are) as means by which the people of God are directed into close communion with the Saviour.
