Unshackled

One of the blessings of living in America is the freedom we enjoy to move around the country unimpeded. But nearly 5.5 million Americans are not able to move as freely for they've experienced some form of paralysis. Luke 5 records the story of Jesus' encounter with a first-century paralytic. He will use this opportunity to teach those gathered a spiritual lesson about being unshackled from something far more debilitating than a spinal cord injury-- being unshackled from sin so as to enjoy the freedom that Christ came to bring. For the paralytic who had faith in Jesus, received forgiveness from Jesus, and then experienced freedom from Jesus. For 'If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed' (John 8:36b)
