18 Who or What Rules Your Life?

50

Millions of professing Christians are slaves of money, sex, drugs, power, or even a person they wish to please or possess. They love these “little gods” so much they no longer hear or obey the one true God. Thus proving that, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

Strictly speaking “mammon” is money, but in the context of Matthew 6 it refers to anything so that has become so important that you would disobey God’s revealed will in order possess that thing or please that person.

Your heart, will, and mind is always ruled by what you treasure most. If God is your treasure you will trust Him and follow him as directed in the Bible. You will believe in His Son Jesus for salvation and order your life, relationships, and business, according to God’s word.

If you cannot say that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the only authorities in your life, then you are enslaved to something or someone else. If you are a Christian you must take action immediately to restore your joy, peace, and witness. Search out these “little gods," turn from serving them, confess your sin, and God will forgive.

If you are not a believer in and follower of Jesus, I will be happy explain the Christian Gospel to you. By believing in Jesus Christ, as presented in the Bible, your sins can be forgiven. Pastor John Skaggs
