13 The Fruits of the Flesh

Gal 5:15
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

The false Gospel that had infiltrated the Galatian Church was dividing them and causing bitter fights. The same can happen to us if we don’t know the Scriptures. False teaching can cause divisions and strife in our body of believers. Man’s goals become more important than God’s. Sometimes these are even carried out under the guise of “this is a message from God.” God will never give us revelation or ask us to do anything that is contrary to Scripture. The same division will occur when our doctrine is not clearly understood and accepted. Some may say that it is OK to have differences in doctrine in the Christian Church. This is not true because it always leads to strife as this verse demonstrates. With proper Biblical exegeses we can all come to the same understanding of the Scriptures. When we do not share in the same clear understanding of the Scriptures we begin to divide.
