The Faith of Abram

What is "perfect faith"? Can we have it? Did Abram? In this account, God deals gently with Abram's fears and frustration, comforting him and reiterating His promise. God even condescends to show Abram by a secular covenant ritual that His promise is good. Abram does trust God, showing faith that is like New Testament faith -- faith that God is owner, creator, trustworthy, and the One to whom we owe call. How this relates to our faith, and some challenges for us, are evident from this account.
