Epilogue: Imminence and Invitation GR 891

There's no other book of scripture more strongly and directly attested and recommended for study than the book of Revelation. I mention that because many people say it's a difficult book, so I don't spend much time with it. Better realize the weight that God gives to this book, because it's crucial to understanding much of the rest of prophetic scripture. Now John is going to give us the conclusion, or epilogue, to the book. There will be three subjects that will repeat as we move through this conclusion. The first is that there is this is the genuine word of God. Secondly, there is an emphasis on the soon return of Jesus Christ. Thirdly, there is a clear contrast drawn between the believer and the unbeliever. And within that context there is a very gracious invitation extended. There is still time for you to come and partake of the water of life at no charge. But the time is very short.
