Obeying the Truth Through the Spirit

Obedience is not works for salvation. Obedience is the response of true saving faith to the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Obedience that is only a carnal attempt to comply with God's law is legalism, which leads to bondage of the soul, and is not acceptable to God. It is an attempt to gain God's favor without the influence of God's Spirit. Obedience under the influence of the Holy Spirit will bring liberty to the soul and not bondage.
