Harold Loyd Perry July 28, 1931-- August 21, 2020 Harold was born in Winthrop, Arkansas. The son of George Pinkney Perry and Liza Price. Harold was one of seven children George, Harold, Pauline, Dale, Johnny, Shirley, and Joyce. When Harold was about 9 yrs old his family moved to Lameda California, Where Gerge built ships and Liza built airplanes during WWII. After about 2 years the family moved to MC Farland California where George went to as a union laborer in construction of public works. Harold for a short while worked with his father building the Friant Kern Canal. Harold when he was 17 years old went to work for the kern County Fire Department. When Harold was 18 years old he was drafted into the army and was stationed at West Point and then in Greenland. Harold was a truck driver. After he was released out of the Army he went back to work for the KCFD where he worked till he retired after 33 years in 1986. Harold enjoyed a long retirement of 34 yrs.
In 1955 Harold met and married the love of his life Georgia Rush. They had 3 children Harold Ray (Tab) Perry , Kelly (Husband Tim Whitaker) and Julie (Husband Steve Zumwalt). He had 8 grand children and 6 great grand children. Georgia passed from this life in 2012. Harold worked in public service all of his life. His Hobbies were: restoring antique cars and shooting and gun repair. Harold was the California state champion trap & pot shooter. Harold was one of the founders of the Kern County Gun Club. He and his brother Dale shot together in many tournaments all of their lives. He tutored many young and old shooters teaching them the correct stance and shooting procedures. I was one of them.
