Privileges of the Soldier for Christ

Will believers stand for the truth and contend for the faith? why?

1. True believers have a special calling v1
   A. General Call - Isa 45:22 and 55:6/Matt 11:28/Jn 7
   i. A call to the unrighteous All of us- Rom 3:10-12
   ii. Luke 4:28-30 - Some are enraged

B. Effectual call - Only God can bring us to Himself - "...are THE CALLED..."- Jn 6:44-65
i. Acts 13:46-48 - some who heard the message had been previously appointed for eternal life
ii.2 Tm 1:9/Rom 8:28-30/Rev 13:8
iii The Golden Chain of Salvation - starts with God's mind in eternity past and goes all the way to a person standing glorified in the
presence of God.

C. God in His Love chose us
i. 1 Jn 4:10/Rom 10:20/Eph 2:1-5

2. We are beloved v1
   a. Emphasizes the amazing and unmerited love of God for us
   b. 1 Jn 4:19/Rom 8:38-39
   c. Love that it is absolutely secured "...kept by Jesus"

Are you fixing your life and heart on the truth that God loves you and saved you? He died for you. Are you thankful? Focus on the work of Christ!!
