The great truth here is that righteousness cannot come by the law to which the Galatians were again turning. Man is destitute of all righteousness and helpless to obtain any kind of righteousness by himself. We are lost and condemned sinners on the way to a Godless eternity. There is only one way to escape this world and that is a true heartfelt confession of Jesus Christ. Jesus death was entirely voluntary and final. It satisfied all that God the Father demanded to reconcile people to God. It appeased God’s requirement for the payment of sin. “Our sins; my sins; your sins; past; present and future.” The gospel in financial terms is the present value of a future deliverance. True we appreciate the peace we obtain from God now but as Ephesians 1 says it is the earnest deposit. Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. It delivers believers from the present world system through the power of the indwelling Christ just as certainly as it delivers them from the eternal judgment to come. In His redemptive work Christ accomplished the will of God the Father
