A Wicked And Lazy Servant

Jesus gives another example of those who pretend to be Christians, but are not. Here, it is the false servant whose concept of the Master is warped and wrong. For some, Christ is hard, intractable, and expects the impossible. Therefore, in wicked thoughts and lazy hearts, they seek not to serve, but avoid service. Why bother serving God when all we do is rejected? Why serve where there is no profit to me? So, on the Last Day, we will find that many who take the name of Christian are not really so; because all their religion was based on a false belief that God was harsh, thieving, and unjust. The true Christian, by faith, believes in the overflowing goodness and mercy of God, and rests all his hope on His faithfulness.
