Jacob Blesses Joseph's Children : Seeing the Cross of Christ in the Old Testament
Series Genesis: A Book of Beginnings
25
Here in the final chapters of Genesis we find Jacob blessing the children of Joseph and Pastor Stoos explains the importance of the crossing of Jacob's arms as the double blessing is given to the younger rather than the older son. We are to see in this a clear picture of the work of Jesus, where at the cross the blessing was passed from the "elder son" the nation of Israel to the younger son the Gentiles. And of course as the Apostle Paul makes clear in Romans 9-11 God is not yet through with His OT Covenant people, just as the eldest son of Joseph was not left behind either.
