Overwhelmed in the Arroyo

As I prepared this sermon for Laredo, Texas, both before and after there was a Hurricane Harvey, I reflected on the great truth that Psalm 124 presents: "If it had not been the LORD who was on our side . . ."
We are confronted by the violence of creation in a fallen world and by the power and malice of Satan who lusts for our complete destruction.
But the LORD is on our side, and he has and will deliver us.
