Losing Touch with the Living God

Sermon: Nehemiah 13:4-31

Introduction:

I. In Nehemiah 13, we see a backsliding people-- a people who have lost touch with the living God.
A. Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem to find
spiritual decline.

The danger we face: Exactly the same.

II. How do you lose touch with the living God?
A. They went back on their solemn commitments to God.

III. In this situation, Nehemiah brought reformation.
A. Nehemiah was a man

1. of conviction

2. of courage

B. In closing: we must look beyond human leaders to
Jesus Christ.
