Rooted and Grounded in Love

If you've ever stood right next to a skyscraper and looked up, you may begin to feel a bit off balance and you may actually stumble a bit, as the sheer height of this massive structure plays tricks on your eyes. It seems as if the building is actually bending toward you and you need to get your bearings and make sure you're on solid ground so the vision doesn't topple you.
In this text, Paul calls believers to comprehend something of infinite proportions, or rather, the proportions of something infinite, the love of Christ. Paul wants these believers to come right up close to it and to gaze at its infinite immensity. And to do so, we must have firm footing upon which to stand, and that is our being rooted and grounded in love.
