Lk 17 11-17 A Grateful Heart

Ten were healed of leprosy.

One returned to say, "Thank You!"

And he was not even of Israel.

A friend of mine recently told me that he did not really begin to understand God's grace until he began to develop a grateful heart. There is something about being grateful that opens our hearts and minds up to recognizing the grace that has been given to us.

As we begin to recognize that the gift did not have to be offered; we would never have known if it had not been offered. The gift did not have to be given; we would never have known if it had not been given.

This can open the door for us to be able to increase our understanding of, and appreciation of, the gift of grace that God has given us.

That will lead to us being more cognizant of the need for us, as children of our Heavenly Father, to freely give grace to those around us. After all, we are to be imitators of our Father as dearly loved children.
