The centurion's servant

When Jesus healed the centurion's servant it taught us much about how to approach God and what to expect of him. His friends said the centurion deserved Jesus' help; the centurion said he did not. He blended humility with faith - a belief in Jesus' ability to heal, and a belief in Jesus as a person. He did not approach him on the basis of rights or of what he deserved; he approached Jesus on the basis of what he believed to be Jesus' gracious willingness to bless the unworthy.
