Three Viewpoints on Millennialism GR 885

530

Pre-Millenialism teaches that Jesus Christ will come to earth and establish a kingdom on the earth for a thousand years.
A-Millenalism spiritualizes the thousand years. At the end of all things Christ will return and eternity begins. No physical, earthly kingdom. This was the view of the reformers, John Calvin, Martin Luther and so on. It's the view of the Roman Catholic Church which is where the reformers got it and it is the dominant view of, groups like the Lutherans. Post-millennialism teaches that over time the world will get better and better and ultimately we will bring in the millennium Then at the end of the thousand years, Christ Himself will return. I do not believe the Bible teaches the world is going to get better and better. Or that we ought to impose Mosaic morality on our world. The only view that handles scripture in a normal or literal way is pre-millenialism.
