Is It Right?

Main Point. When we declare "it's not right!" we are basing that judgment upon some standard of right and wrong (law) and there is an assumption that there is a right and a wrong set of consequences (sanctions) that should follow an action. Thus when God shows mercy and compassion upon those who mean to do us harm (i.e. our enemies), it violates our sense of fairness. Yet when we stop and truly consider the just punishment for our sins (i.e. temporal and eternal death and separation from all that is good), we tend to cry for mercy for ourselves.
