Dead Men Walking

Ephesians 2:1-13

As we enter into Chapter 2 we will see God's great plan of Salvation and how it words.

Before we jump into that let me show you where we are heading today over the next 2 sermons.

1. God's Salvation has Rescued Us from the Greatest Depths v. 1-3

2. As v.4 opens we see that God's Work of Salvation Manifests the Greatest Love v. 4-7

3. Lastly we see that God's Work of Salvation is the Greatest Gift v. 8-10
   God's great Work of Salvation lifts and rescues people from the greatest Depths So what exactly has God Done?
   Today we will see 5 things God has done or 5 aspects of what God Rescued Us From

4. First We see God Rescued Us because We were Dead in Our Trespasses and Sin v. 1

5. Not only did God rescue us because we were dead but the Bible also teaches that the person without Christ is Stumbling meaning transgressing

6. Not only are we Dead in our Trespasses but here in v.1 we also see we are dead in our Sin.

7. In addition to all this the text goes on to tell us apart from Christ everyone is Off Course v.2 "in which
   you formerly walked according to the course of this world"

8. Given everything we have seen, It is no surprise to see in v.3 that We all Lived in the Lust of our Flesh

A peek at next week v.4 it says "But God..."

1. God is not content to leave man in this doomed condition.
2. His work of salvation reaches down to this great depth and does a tremendous work of love that we will look at next week. But it involves the person and work of Jesus Christ paying for your sin, suffering the just wrath of God, giving you His righteousness, making you alive IF you repent and believe in Christ
