The Loving God and His Hell

THE LOVING GOD AND HIS HELL

1. God is love and God is good (1 John 4:8, Luke 18:19).
2. Hell exists (Matthew 10:28, Luke 16:23).
3. Hell is the place of the damned (Mark 9:47-48, Isaiah 66:23-24).
4. Eternal punishment comes as a result of evil deeds (Isaiah 66:23-24, Revelation 20:13-15).
5. Hell is also characterized as "outer darkness" (Matthew 25:30).
6. Christ suffered the same "outer darkness" on the cross (Matthew 27:45-46).
7. Those who trust in the sacrifice of Christ will never have to experience this separation from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39).
8. God is in hell as much as He is in heaven (Psalm 139:7-8).
9. Punishment for sin is absolutely just (Romans 3:26).
10. So the Good God has a good purpose for hell. It is for the punishment of all those whose sins are not covered by the blood of Christ (John 3:16).
