10-The Faith of Two on Trial

James poses a rhetorical challenge. "You say you have faith. Fine, show me your faith without showing me your works. But I'll show you my faith by my works." God can see our hearts. But men can only see the difference that Christ makes in our lives as He affects a change in our behavior and demeanor. Our actions become the barometer that shows whether our faith is real. To illustrate this, two people are put on trial for their faith -- Abraham and Rahab. One is the patriarch of the Jews who demonstrates amazing obedience while the other is a Canaanite prostitute who responds imperfectly but sincerely to her faith in Jehovah. When your actions are weighed, does the evidence convict you of being a Christian?
