Anointed

It was the opening of this great chapter that Jesus chose to use in the synagogue in Nazareth. By identifying Himself here, the Lord made one of His most overt claims to messiah-ship. It is a lovely piece of Hebrew poetry in which Messiah describes His mission and the marvelous accomplishments He will bring about. All who read or hear this passage must ought to be impelled to fall at the feet of the Savior.
