Are You A Futurist, A Literalist, A Historicist, Or A Preterist? Let's find out

764

OK... For those 3 or 4 of you out there who have listened to the first 31 lectures that Pastor Chronister has done on Genesis, and you're patiently waiting for the rest of the 105 sermons... well, here we go. As you may recall, we left our Genesis series as pastor has wandered off into the proverbial corn field of... Matthew. So what in the world does Matthew have to do with Genesis? And why did we wait so long to get back into the Genesis series anyway? Well... this is Cliffside Community Chapel, so that makes this a...... Cliffhanger. Ha, Ha, Ha. Hey, I didn't come up with that line, I just repeated it. OK, but really... what about the Matthew question? Well, Genesis as you'll recall has the Fall in chapter 3, and the Flood in Chapter 6, and then you'll remember Sodom and Gomorrah in chapter 19. OK, all those have to do with the conversation that Jesus is having with His disciples chapter 24 of Matthew, known as The Olivet Discourse. Those portions of Genesis, along with others, have to do with the time of the Great Tribulation and Christ's return. If this is new to you then I can't promise you you'll like it. But just try it. You might like it. If you find you don't like it, that's OK. The door is over there and you can leave whenever you'd like. Now that I've offended most of you reading this, I should probably stop typing before I drive all of you away.
So let's start the sermon. But before you press play, you might want to pull out your TextBook and a pad and pencil. Thank you for listening. And may God bless you as you study along with us.
