But Now — Boasting Is Excluded

As Paul has brought us face to face with the cross of Jesus Christ and all of the implications of the atonement, he now reiterates those consequences with the declaration that all boasting is excluded. When it comes to our salvation, we contribute nothing, except for the sin that required us to be saved. We have nothing to boast about in ourselves. Yet, our pride is so strong and often so subtle in trying to take some credit in some way for what is the Grace of God alone.
