False Pauline Preeminence

Christ merits the preeminence in all things and never some mere mortal, not even the blessed Apostle Paul! Yet, because of his influence upon the church, some hyper-dispensationalists have stated that Paul deserves the preeminence. Hyper-dispensationalists are notorious for this such recklessness.

Every Bible student knows that God led Paul to write more books of the Bible than any other man. Yet, mere academic facts are not as important as the lessons learned from the specifics given concerning the man's life. Paul is no exception. For this reason, one should consider how Paul serves as one of the most significant personal examples of the desperate need for living grace following saving grace.

In considering this truth, one must study what Paul wrote concerning the Law. By inspiration, Paul wrote the right thing! Yet, his life revealed some serious flaws in failing to live according to what he wrote.

God led Paul to repeatedly write concerning the Law's inability to make a man righteous. He wrote that if justifiable righteousness for salvation could come from keeping the Law, then Christ's sacrificial death was needless and pointless. (Galatians 2:19-21)

If man could add ANYTHING to Christ's sacrifice for salvation, then the Father would have been guilty of needlessly sacrificing His Son upon the cross of Calvary. The facts are simple: keeping the Law saved no one. In fact, keeping the Law never added anything to one's salvation—past, present or yet in the future. Paul testified that he was a mere sinner saved by God's mercy and grace.
