The Well Prepared Soldier

In earlier sections we explored the creation and existence of angels, and their nature, purpose and realm. Activities of the elect angels were explored to the limited extent they are mentioned in Scripture. Following that, we covered the fall of angels in their rebellion against God under the influence of Satan, and the results of that rebellion, both immediately and eventually. We have been exploring the unseen reality itself, in particular, the two kingdoms that are at war with each other, The Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan. We examined Hades and Hell, as well as the “Intermediate state” of Heaven and the “ultimate” Heaven, which is that most glorious existence described, prepared and promised for all of God's redeemed believers, for all of eternity. Having previously examined the strategies and tactics that Satan uses to defeat God's purposes in the Christian, we now examine the preparation of the Christian to serve as an active-duty soldier in the battle against “the world, the flesh and the devil.” However, the strength and effectiveness of the Christian is not based upon his personal abilities but on the power of God. Recognition of one's personal weakness is a required initial step in being enabled by God to prevail.
