Rock of Salvation

When all is said and done, what really ought to surprise us is NOT that God’s people saw consequences for their sinful behavior. Their idolatry, immorality, and grumbling brought judgment upon them (that’s not surprising, its what they deserved)… but how is it that God preserved them for any length of time? How is it that God could show mercy and kindness to such rebellious people? Interestingly Exodus 17 provides us with the explanation. It’s only seen though as you see Christ present in the text.
