Remember Christ in Your Trial

56

Once again, we take up the sufferings of Job in order to understand better all that Christ would do for him, and for us, by His sufferings at the cross. It is Christ's sufferings which undergird all of our sufferings as Christians; all that we will suffer as Christians in living our life for God. It is Christ's grace which gives us the strength to bear up under sufferings and even to rejoice and be glad. But let us see that Job had come to the place where he just wanted God to leave him alone, he says in verse 20, so that he might take a little comfort and then die. So, since we have come here to observe the Lord's Supper, and to remember Christ at this time, I would like to show you God's thoughts concerning Job's negative thoughts. All of these points that I will make are meant to encourage you, the Christian, when you are at your lowest point.
