The snare of Phariseeism

The training of the disciples was by no means a hasty or rushed matter. They had much to learn before being sent forth on the great commission. They also had much to unlearn.
The disciples were influenced by the religious opinions prevailing at that time in Israel. The Lord spoke strongly and repeatedly against the leven of the Pharisees.
His teaching is a reminder for every generation of believers in the work of the gospel, of the snares which we can easily become entangled in. The Saviour's warning is just as much relevant today as when He first delivered it to His disciples, 'Beware of the leven of the Pharisees'.
