The Prodigal Son 2 of 7 (The Forlorn Son Seeks Away From His Father)

601

In this sermon Rutherford shows how sin always brings unhappiness and warns Christians against flirting with even the smallest of sins. He answers why Adam sinned (from the supralapsarian position), explains why the Lord allows Christians to fall into sin and gives us an overview of the Calvinistic view of sanctification. How and why God punishes sin and sinners -- in history and on earth -- is also dealt with. This sermon is read by elder Lyndon Dohms and taken from the book Quaint Sermons of Samuel Rutherford.
