Chosen By God

In the closing portion of David's life, the Lord gives him strength to address the officials of Israel, to turn over the assignment of the building of the Temple to Solomon. The Temple was to be a permanent resting place for the ark, which for the first time here, is called God's footstool. Out of Israel, God had chosen the tribe of Judah, then he chose David out of that tribe, and now, out of David's many sons, God chooses Solomon to build the Temple.
