John the Baptist: An Effective Witness for Christ (pt. 1)

"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; 2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight." —Mark 1:1-3

Christ said of John the Baptist that “Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist.“ He was sent to prepare the way for Christ's soul-saving ministry. His life has much to teach God's people today how they can become effective witnesses that prepare the way for Christ to come among the lost today and save them.

This is the first message in a series of messages on the gospel of Mark.
