Baptism is the Christian’s “coming out” celebration, when their faith “goes public.” The prerequisite for baptism is salvation. Baptism is not saving or insignificant, but it is a public picture of salvation, a public covenantal ceremony, and the prerequisite to the Lord's Table. We baptize because Jesus commands it and the church practiced it.
