Abraham: Justification Promised in Christ

Clearly, God called Abraham; and, he came to faith. We conclude, God's call was effectual. By this word we express the truth that the Spirit's call is definite not general; it isn't an offer, invitation or a wooing; rather, it's a persuasion that instructs the mind, fires the affections and moves the will. This call is in unison with spiritual birth and always results in true faith. Abraham's call is thus a suitable type.
